Common Questions & Answers:
I have now added an FAQ/ Q & A section on my website. Often I get asked questions like: “Is this a 3D print?” No. And in this section I will explain why not here.
Q: "Why don’t you just switch to 3D printing?”
A: Because 3D printed resin is not permanent.
It has an average life span of about 3-5 years. After, at about which time, it will begin to degrade. Exposure to moisture, UV light, extreme freeze/thaw cycles (Summer vs. winter) will drastically shorten it’s life-span. So, no; I cannot, will not, in good conscience sell something to an unsuspecting collector, knowing it has a temporary life-span.
Below are screenshots. I would strongly recommend doing your own research.
Q: "So what's the material made out of then?"
A: A combination of different materials; including various Portland Cements, such as Hydrocal, Ultracal, Epoxy clays, but mainly the contortionist sculptures are made of Calcium Carbonate (Limestone) mixed with a Thermoset, Urethane resin binding agent, cast from an RTV- Silicone Mold. Internal steel, and aluminum armatures are added for structural integrity.
Q: “Do you do commissions?”
A: Normally, no. I spent 15 years of my life, doing just that. Working in Production Studios. Unfortunately, most people have absolutely no clue, the enormous amount of work involved. That is why I am going to be creating tutorials/ behind-the-scenes walk thru’s on my youtube channel, in hopes people get a better understanding of what they’re asking for:

But in any case, for experienced collectors that are experienced with these processes, sometimes yes, under the right circumstance.
Q: “Do you ship overseas?”
A: For most of the works, yes. However unfortunately, some of them are just too delicate to ship that far. Which is why I am hoping to establish a presence in the E.U., not necessarily a Fine Art Gallery, it could even be just a small boutique, to whom I could sell to, and then they resell, with a commission they deem appropriate. This way, I could direct potential buyers to place they could view the works in person.
